weiting liu cmu Weiting Liu

Weiting Liu was born in March 13, 1966. He received his bachelor degree of Biomedical Engineering July, 1990. And then he was faculty of the department of Scientific and Biomedical Instrumentation (now the College of Biomedical Engineering and Scientific Instrument) in Zhejiang University, China. He has Chinese PhD. in biomedical engineering from Zhejiang University. He became an assistant professor of Biomedical Engineering in Zhejiang University from 1995. He is IEEE member from 2004. He was a visiting scholar at Centro Piaggio of Pisa University (2001.11-2002.3). He joined CRIM Lab (Scuola Superiore Sant Anna, Pisa, Italy) in March 2004 as a visiting scholar. He started his second PhD. (2005) in Italy under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Dario. Now he is both PhD. candidate in Biorobotic Science and Engineering at IMT (Instituzioni Mercati Tecnologie Alti Studi LUCCA, Italy) and the researcher in Zhejiang University (China) and Chongqing University (China). From August 2007, he joined NanoRobotics Lab in Carnegie Mellon University and working on PVDF micro/nano fiber project. His research interests are bio-inspired micro-robotics, micro/nano technology, and new generation active endoscopy systems.
